Statement of Wanda Ball, on behalf of Communities United For Action (CUFA)

Cincinnati, Ohio - In response to the Hamilton County Commissioners passage of the proposed senior Customer Assistance Program for sewer bills Tuesday, Communities United For Action member Wanda Ball said:

“Communities United For Action and the public provided recommendations for improving the senior Customer Assistance Program at the February 19, 2019 public hearing. Two months later, they finally passed a program making only one improvement- raising the discount from 20% to 25%. Commissioners vowed to expand the program, and it is our hope that expanded programs won’t be delayed like this one. People need help with sewer bills now.”

Communities United For Action uses the power of diverse, grassroots people to create a strong voice for low- and moderate-income residents and to build thriving, sustainable communities for all.
