Unless Congress acts swiftly, all efforts to accurately count the American population for the Census 2020 will end September 30. Census data is used to determine voting district representation and to allot federal funding, so getting an accurate count will impact our neighborhoods for the next decade. We know many people are struggling to deal with the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. CUFA's Coronavirus Response Platform calls for statewide moratoriums on evictions, foreclosures and utility shutoffs. CUFA is calling for more people to get the help they need when our wastewater infrastructure fails. Let's imagine together: a world where we work to dismantle racist policies that have made it clear during this pandemic that we value money over people's lives.
