Some of CUFA’s accomplishments include:

·        Negotiated Community Reinvestment Agreements with Bank One, Fifth Third, PNC, Provident, Star and Society.   These agreements total more that $750 million, making money available for home loans and business loans in low and moderate income communities.

·        CUFA supported and helped bring about neighborhood redevelopment in our communities, including the construction of more than 115 new and rehabbed homes for first time homeowners.  Several more new construction projects are now underway.

·        Fought to clean up environmental problems in our communities, including air pollution and illegal dumps.  Brought U.S. EPA chief Carol Browner to Cincinnati to meet with neighborhood leaders and discuss the community concerns regarding the environment and pollution.

·        CUFA’s Crime & Drug Committee has gotten City Council to post Drug Free School Zone signs throughout the city, doubling the penalty for dealing drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.  CUFA developed the Hot Spot Card program to anonymously report crime & drug activities.

·        CUFA has led the fight for utility reform and to stop higher utility rates by Duke Energy
