On Tuesday morning, CUFA President Marilyn Evans and CUFA Board Member Roger Davis attended a press conference held by Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld announcing an expansion to the Vacant Foreclosed Residential Property Ordinance. CUFA won the adoption of the ordinance in July 2012 as a pilot program in 5 neighborhoods, then worked with Cincinnati City Council to expand its reach to cover all 52 neighborhoods in March 2014.

CUFA continues to work to get rid of vacant houses in our community. Contact us to join the CUFA Vacant Property Action Team!

CUFA is excited to hear more about Councilman Sittenfeld’s motion to:

  • Close loopholes in the law in order to name the lender as the person in charge of taking care of the property
  • Require tax lien purchasers to register their vacant property with the City
  • Streamline the revenue from the Vacant Foreclosed Property Registration (VFPR) program to cover hazard abatement
  • Make the VFPR website more user-friendly
