December 5,1992 – July 23, 2009

Mark Antonio Hooten was born on December 5th, 1992 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the proud parents of Yvette Hooten and Masai Torbert. Mark attended both the Gamble Elementary School, and Dater High School, where he played basketball 7th grade through 9th grade.

Mark was very involved in athletics throughout the South Cumminsville community, where he played softball, basketball, and football throughout his childhood. Mark kept himself busy with a summer job with the CUFA Youth Council mentoring youth, and also had a side job cutting grass on Saturday mornings.

Mark grew up around the First Baptist Church of Cumminsville which he was a member of.

Mark leaves behind his loving mother Yvette Hooten, his father Masai Torbert, his three sisters MarVette, Jatonia, and Pooh, his three brothers Monsanna, Masai, and Mysaiah, his two loving grandmothers Bernice Glenn and Loretta Barnes, his grandfather Henry Hooten, his very close uncle Saiah Barnes, his God parents, and many other close relatives, friends and fellow students at Dater High School.

Mark had been an active member of the CUFA Youth Council for the past two years, and had spent the past two summers working in our summer youth employment program. He will be dearly missed by everyone.

His final resting place is at the Vine Street Cemetery.
